When you’re in the mood for some beef and broccoli but don’t want to eat like crap, it’s time to head over to Vietnam in Chinatown. Steamed and grilled veggies, lettuce and rice paper with char-grilled chicken and meatballs, fantastic pho, and so on. Plus, since you’re eating something good-ish for you, go ahead and throw in a Flaming Volcano to even things out (that’s how it works right?!).Cue the food pics!
We’ve been hibernating this winter but one of the major reasons we leave our couch/fireplace/House of Cards setup is the Nova Salmon at FARMicia. We’ve had their incredible house-made Lox every which way. Throw four Lox Dishes in with half price brunch cocktails and you’ve got your very own LOXAPALOOZA (because…it’s delicious and why the hell not).Cue the food pics!
Cheese-lovers/cheddarhounds/turophiles/stilton-freaks/caseophiles of all kinds filed into High Street On Market for a special $25, four course cheese-centric meal of wonder. Centered around Birchrun Hills Farm cheeses, each dish was cheesier and more smile-inducing than the next. Bring on the cheese.Cue the food pics!
Ahhh, this place. With Italian food that your Nonna/Nunny would approve of, white tablecloths and 40 years of family vibes, The Saloon is our new favorite spot. Old Fashioneds, green carpets, and Scope in the ladies room…this place has character. It also has the best marinara/gravy/red sauce/whatever you call it we’ve ever had.Cue the food pics!
If you are going to brave the restaurant week crowds, here’s our top 5 picks for spots where you’ll definitely get more than your money’s worth (we even did the math).

Ah, 12 Steps Down. One of the finer divey establishments Philly has to offer…where $2 Mimosas and Bloodys flow like wine and day drinking is highly encouraged. Plus, they have the latest and greatest craft beers, friendly vibes, and free wifi to boot.Cue the food pics!
